anyone seen Sasha DJ lately? caught him last night in Tampa for a special event (doors at 6) with Three. They tag teamed from 9-3 and it was freaking insane. I have never been a huge Sasha guy, I have Involver/Airdrawndagger/a few GUs, but holy cow it was good. Three was top notch as well.

The last time I saw Sasha was one of those shows he was doing with Digweed a few years ago, I can’t recall the name of the tour though.  It was pretty lackluster then..

I’ve always thought Three was one of the most underrated Florida DJ’s.  I’ve got some old school mixtapes of his from back in like 92 or 93 and they are still phenomenal to listen to when in the mood for club music.  Always seemed weird to me that Tampa was much more into his music than any clubs in Orlando.  Of course, the scene has just about completely died in Orlando.

Orlando scene is just about dead?  That’s sad, it was one of the few mainstays of dance music in North America.

I would say that Tampa has taken over, or at least trying to. Orlando is more hipster now.

but yeah Three just continues to be great… I caught him a few months back as well and he was awesome. His work at Hyde Park Cafe is fantastic. He has brought in some nice talent over the last year.

Dusty Kid - Psika was my track of the night

It is nothing like it was.  There are a few smaller bars that kind of double as clubs that are trying to get a house scene going.  Some guys like q-burns abstract message are still around and doing some fun sets.

Most of the larger clubs that would have great shows three or four nights a week have converted over to hip-hop and the more mainstream pop-dance kind of stuff.  There are a lot of VIP lines, and see and be scene type of events as well.  Paris Hilton opened a club here if that gives you any idea of what the typical night life is like.

And you can still find some of the Orlando regulars banging out Florida Funky breaks like it is 1997.

Right around WMC is the one exception as we get a lot of overflow from Miami.
