A cynical thought, I feel and somewhat off tangent from your original objective. A fun topic nonetheless.

Whether being loved or being in love, it is an essence of life. One, I’m sure, most people believe as a truth rather than a construct.

On the other hand being more annoyed by people that love you that you don’t love back implies a lack of neediness because you are not at a loss for people that love you and are annoyed at having to handle those touchy situations where you don’t want to offend someone but at the same time don’t want to give them the wrong idea about where you stand in your boundaries of the relationship.

I have this problem. I don’t think of it as a lack of neediness though. Maybe a lack of balls.

that might be one aspect of what’s considered to be love, but as you noted the word love has multiple meanings.
