I’m having difficulty teaching the concept of zero to my son who is pre-k.  I’m trying to help him learn to count to 100.  This is difficult in that I can recall when I learned how to count to 100 in the shower as a kid but it involved me having an epiphany of the concept of 10’s and incrementing the 10’s by one in order to count higher.  I find it hard to get my son to grasp this as he is unfamiliar with Zero.  Argggg!!!  Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.  nerd

How do I teach zero?  I don’t think his teachers are reinforcing the concept of zero.  They automatically start at one.

Zero is a hard concept to truly grasp - a great many civilizations understand ‘none’ but don’t have a numerical representative for the concept.  Ignore ‘0’ on its own and concentrate on its use with other numbers. i.e. 10, 20, etc.

An album by Poison?  You need that magnetic stimulation pretty bad, huh?
