Good software to use in place of iTunes

Neeedd suggestionsss badlyyyy.
I mean like really good stuff not like some little program that Jerry from Kansas made on his Visual Basic 1.0

I assume you’re referring to Winamp, made by Justin from Arizona. (Who later went on to create the Gnutella P2P system. Quite brilliant, he is.)

Vinnie might be able to answer this better than me… because as far as I know, most of the library-based apps on PC were gone by the wayside long before iTunes ever went cross-platform. MusicMatch was the only one that had a somewhat solid library system, the downside being that the codebase has been bloated and laggy since version 3 (it’s now up to 10). Then there’s Windows Media Player, which nobody wants to use.

PC: foobar (for it’s convienient file-editing features) but WinAmp if you really love the MilkDrop visualizer (which is, with all due respect, amazing… and I’m no hippie)
Mac: Songbird (because it’s open-source and let’s us play our FLACs unlike iTunes!)

PC for video: VLC

while on topic, I use K-Lite Codec Packs for keeping my codec’s up-to-date. google search will lead the way
