Welcome to an exciting new year at NORG school of Geekery, fellow geeks : )

We have 4 houses. Geekindor, Synthlepuff, Remixclaw and Plug-intherin.

After much fighting with a certain hat.. i was placed in the house of Geekindor.

Which house were you placed in?

I will start out with a question, lets see how this picks up smile

I am currently looking for a good 24’’ monitor for my studio. The ones i have wil be sold due to backlight leakage and pixel burn (Apple makes pretty bad monitors, IMO).

Something in the 300-800 dollar range, but resistant.

Any suggestions ?

(I think Synthlepuff should be Shufflepuff — i.e. casual music nerds — and the “synth” be given to Syntherin.)

Oh...uh...we recently bought an HP w1907 (19”, but there are bigger models) for the folks’ Mac mini. It’s a glossy-surfaced screen, so I dunno what the glare is like from what I’ve seen of your setup, but the colours are nice and rich compared to my matte laptop monitor. Nice and bright, and you can make custom colour profiles from inside the OSD (useful since everything was tinted pink at first and I was grumbling angrily at ColorSync Utility for a while until I figured it out). If you haven’t already, go out to a few electronics stores and look at all the lineups of monitors, and usually there’ll be one or two that eventually catch your eye more than the others.

I hear a TON of positive things about Dell moniters.  smile and the ones we use at work are REALLY nice.

Okay, the idea is hilarious but how about Syntherin and Pluginpuff, just switch em up?

Pluginpuff, Geekindor, Syntherin & Remixclaw..

well I was placed in pluginpuff which made me skeptical at first, but we save so much money on plugs that we can afford a ReacTable =O
