What is the best host for posting audio files?

I’m planing to begin publicly posting audio files.  In general, I’m familiar with the options out there, but want some opinions.

Important to me:

1) Free or low cost
2) Does NOT provide host any copyright license or rights (e.g. in other words, I retain ALL rights to my own music)
3) Ability to delete / update file with same name.  So I can make minor changes without changing link.
4) Ability to restrict private or offer public access.
5) Links / uploads easily and fast from email or website.  (no advertisement delays either!)
6) No spam or tons of other crap (aka MySpace).
7) Good amount of storage

I may eventually wish to sell my music, but for now just wish to post it for free.  I want to choose the right host the first time.

Let me know 1) your choice 2) Why it is best

Thanks!

Honestly the most flawless way to do this is to get a webhost and use it as a storage space. I’m not aware of any file sharing services (free or low cost) that don’t carry a ton of site/advertisement overhead, and I detest web-based file management in general.

I use Dreamhost for my personal site, which I use to host all my DJ mixes. Upon registration they give you one free domain to register, which you can use as your site URL in links. Create some subdirectories, set your permissions, password protect folders if you want, etc. The quickest way to ensure your stuff gets uploaded is to use an FTP client, but they do have WebFTP if you’re at a different computer. There’s tons of storage, even more transfer, and I can get you a promo code to make it $30 per year.

File hosting services are a complete joke, designed for people who don’t stop and realize hosting can actually be far cheaper.

Yes. Definately a better option to file hosting services.

BUT, if you are not into getting your own webhost and storage space, then the best way to go is http://www.fileden.com

but yes, i recommend getting your own webhost.

webhost: http://www.neolinesolutions.com
$5/mo. blazing fast servers, great control panel, they’ll teach you how to setup the private/public stuff. and setup your domain name for you etc.  fast & easy.

It’s what I use for my and my web design client’s web sites.
