Flaming June is one of BT’s career-defining moments. The mix that’s labelled the BT & PvD mix is essentially the original mix. Most releases of FJ with an extended mix or original mix are about 8min 50s in length.

Meanwhile, I bought Paul van Dyk’s “Perspective - A collection of remixes 1992-1997” 2xCD a long, long time ago and noticed at an early stage it has a considerably longer version of Flaming June that is 11min 08s in length. The mix is called “PvD & BT’s Remix” but in essence it sounds more or less the same as the 8min 50s version, with some minor additions and alterations.

Does the longer version appear on any of BT’s own releases? I don’t think so based on a quick stroll through Discogs. The longer version of Flaming June appears also on Paul van Dyk’s compilation “Vorsprung Dyk Technik (Remixes 92-98)” with the original name Flaming June (BT & PvD Remix) (11:07).

I don’t have the original CD unfortunately. I got the Some Go And More version of Flaming June off bugs.co.kr, a Korean website which had the whole thing streaming back about 4 years or so ago.

Will check the track time when I get back home. wink

Negative on Some Go & More, the version on there is actually an unmixed identical to the ESCM version with the drum n’ bass ending. The aforementioned version I do recall and did have at one point—it’s essentially identical as BioTracer said, to the 8 minute version. Vorsprug Dyk Technik is the only place it’s ever been officially released, with the slight exception of a 128 kbps MP3 that was unofficially leaked a while back. You can connect the dots on that one.

Thanks for the update! The 11min version of Flaming June includes glimpses of some “housier” piano on it that does not appear on the 8min 50s version, otherwise it’s essentially the same without going into too much detail.

So the only official releases of the full length 11min version of Flaming June appear on Paul van Dyk’s compilations:

“Perspective - A collection of remixes 1992-1997”

and

“Vorsprung Dyk Technik (Remixes 92-98)”.

The latter was also released as 4x12” vinyl box with Flaming June included. It probably is the 11min version, must check with a friend who has the vinyl box.

It comes in at 11.06. The intro’s longer as well.

True dat. It clocks in at 11:08 on Paul van Dyk’s “Perspective - A collection of remixes 1992-1997”. And as Rageous already pointed out it doesn’t have the d’n’b part in the outro.
