Death Cab for Cutie - Marching Bands of Manhattan (Blake Jarell’s Pacha NYC Remix)

Nicely done, and slightly better than his remix of Snow Patrol - Chasing Cars from last year.

Now you owe the DJ mix that chanced you upon said remix a listen.  evil

MuteMath - Control

Glad someone else likes these guys...they’re excellently rad and deserve this payoff for having been around forever.  Mad sounds, fantastic NeoSting vocalist, catchy but [also very good] songwriting…

For me, it’s the jam session after Stare at the Sun (called Obsolete), and then Reset.  But also Noticed, Break the Same, and You Are Mine...ugh, so freaking good.  Just go buy the album.

Definitely two of the best songs Rob ever wrote.

Casey, this is for you, holmes, for having good taste (saying that, here’s to Wideband!) They do “Typical”.

MuteMath on Letterman. KILLER performance, makes your average Letterman perf look unacceptable.  Proof that they have one of the best rock drummers out there right now, among proving a lot of other merits.  Better yet, different from the album version (new bridge, some nice extra vocal nuances).

If you don’t think he can rock that keytar, go see them live, their shows are mad.  Also, remember that this band is his brainchild, put together from instrumentalists from around the country, as the story goes.

(Adam Levine who?)

Exactly.  I love the response from Letterman: “HA!  Whooo!  Nice goin’… Everyone alright??”

Everytime I listen to this band, their writing makes me think, how could this song not have been written yet?  That’s how solid the compositions are.  I don’t know if that makes sense, but it does to me.

I just thought it was a given ;)
And you’re right, he does sound a lot like Sting… not sure how i missed that one. Actually they reminded me a lot of Trapt when i first heard them, just without the thrashing guitars, which is a good thing imo.

General MIDI - The Westerner

One of my all-time favorites.  happy This song is fun to play guitar leads around.

Agreed!  This is the General Midi I miss....probably one of my fave tracks of his (with the B-side, “Eastoner,” edging it out just slightly wink).

Tentacled was always my fav… followed closely by The Future. The Westerner and The Easterner didn’t really catch on till MIDI Style got its overdue release—but of the two, Easterner definitely gets the nod.

FWIW, On The Run was my favorite from the album itself.

Whoops! Meant Easterner!  Easily confused this mind of mine.

Since beginning my French class the other day, I’ve gotten the itch to listen to songs in French. Which can only mean I’m listening to..

Paris by Delerium. (Just happens to be my #1 most played song in iTunes 2,896 plays >_> )

The Producers - “Freeway”

B-side from their first single “Barking Up The Right Tree” which has just been released. Pure classic “Trevor Horn” type of magic begins somewhere around the 2:35 mark. An OK track, maybe more so because it inspires me to pull up some old ZTT records from the vaults smile

The Producers:
· Chris Braide (keyboards and vocals)
· Lol Creme (guitars and vocals)
· Trevor Horn (bass and vocals)
· Stephen Lipson (guitars)
· Ash Soan (drums)
