But I loved every second of it, and will watch it religiously should it become a show.

That, Airwolf, The Dukes of Hazzard, and the Incredible Hulk were my favorite TV shows growing up.  Props to Knight Rider!

KITT as a Ford: sick None of the rest of this horrid ill-conceived idea matches that level of suck.

That is all.

As many of you know, I’m a few years behind on my TV.  I wanted to watch this thing simply for the venom that wells up inside me whenever something that was perfectly fine on its own gets dug up and skull-fucked.  But alas my roommates, in an act of self preservation I guess, deleted the offending program.  Ah well.

Get Battlestar Galactica on DVD.  I watched the entire first disk in one sitting.  All I can say is HOLLY SHIT!  (Yes, Holly...)
Now there is some good TV.

Fair warning Chuck, BSG is moderately tolerable for the first 1.5 seasons, then it dies a horrible death in the final episode of season 2 and never recovers. It continues a downward spiral into a complete piece of shit. Coincidence? Not at all. The original series was only two years long, and Ron Moore doesn’t have a single creative bone in his body, let alone the capacity to write his own material.

I wasn’t a big fan of the remade series in the first place, but the beginning was somewhat intriguing. The rest is just trash fodder for fanboys who refuse to admit the show sucks. Proof in the pudding? Ron’s wife actively patrols the Sci-Fi boards worse than Peach on BTM, banning anyone who voices dissent in the show’s direction. I watched it all go down a couple of years ago, and most of those people have since given up on the show.

Knight Rider was bouind to be bad - they didn’t get the original KITT-voice.

For the record Battletsar Galactica was horrid, too.

Airwolf was tremendous when I was young, but i’ve tried re-watching it a bunch of times and it’s really not good.

Thing is, the original Knight Rider, despite being one of my favourite shows as a kid, wasn’t perfectly fine on it’s own. It was SHIT tastic, and I bet if you went back and compared the first few episodes to the recent movie, they’d be on par.

I dunno. I don’t think the style of show could actually be good, now or then.

Or maybe im just bitter because of the whole Mustang thing.

A Ford Mustang?  Seriously?  Right when the new Camaro is about to come out?  Yes, I know the original Kitt was a Pontiac Firebird Trans Am, but the Camaro was its Chevrolet-badged analog.  It’s certainly more fitting than the Mustang.

Should have looked more like this…

Guess GM felt the new Camaro got enough press as the new Bumblebee in Transformers.  You can all thank VW for not wanting their brand associated with violence.

The Camaro or even the Challenger would have been great cars. I think the Camaro got passed up because yes it was Bumblebee, and I think the Challenger got passed up because it’s just finally starting to see something close to production.

Agreed with Rageous on Battlestar Galactica, it was tolerable in the first season and the second season was OK, but not great. Didn’t catch all episodes though.

I generally like the current retro Mustang design but I’m not sure it was the right choice for the new KITT. I haven’t seen any new episodes yet so that’s all I can say so far.
