It doesn’t seem possible. Maybe the demos are just incredibly forgiving test cases. But from the guys who made Melodyne, I’d expect better than snake oil. Even if it only works a little bit, fucking cool. If it works better than that, fucking amazing.

I do notice they use example sounds with fairly well-defined attack transients, but even if that’s a requirement, it’s not necessarily a terrible one…

What do you think?

(Oh yeah, hi. Weird choice for a first post, I’m sure. I’ve probably been reading this board off and on for years, not sure why I never chimed in sooner… call me shy. Is it weird that I thought of you guys first when I saw this? )

I remember someone found a peice of equipment that did almost the same thing but was more for flange and phaser time effects, but it was a small squarish style peice with a circle in the middle and depending on your hand , effected the sound effects.

anyone have any idea what this was! hope to hear from yall

A whole studio to go with it… and they dropped the price to 499! That’s gonna cannibalize the shit out of Cubase and Digital Performer.

I will start out with a question, lets see how this picks up

I am currently looking for a good 24’’ monitor for my studio. The ones i have wil be sold due to backlight leakage and pixel burn (Apple makes pretty bad monitors, IMO).

Something in the 300-800 dollar range, but resistant.

Any suggestions ?

Almost there; lets discuss the future of the way music is perceived.

This will blow your mind.  Bjork uses one live, they had one at Sonar, and hopefully the sheer ingenuity of this device will place one near you sometime soon.  Personally, I hope it changes everything.  Pay attention to how around each object its parameters are symbolically represented, so you can see how the parameters are behaving, how they change as you play with them.

Given BT’s obvious skillz wit da sound, couldn’t he ROCK one of these?

I’m planing to begin publicly posting audio files.  In general, I’m familiar with the options out there, but want some opinions.

Important to me:

1) Free or low cost
2) Does NOT provide host any copyright license or rights (e.g. in other words, I retain ALL rights to my own music)
3) Ability to delete / update file with same name.  So I can make minor changes without changing link.
4) Ability to restrict private or offer public access.
5) Links / uploads easily and fast from email or website.  (no advertisement delays either!)
6) No spam or tons of other crap (aka MySpace).
7) Good amount of storage

I may eventually wish to sell my music, but for now just wish to post it for free.  I want to choose the right host the first time.

Let me know 1) your choice 2) Why it is best
